Introduction

Swedish Chocolate Balls (Chokladbollar) are one of the most popular treats in Sweden . Besides being amazingly tasty, they're super easy to make. You can eat them plain, or dress them up for a special occasion.

Swedish Chocolate Balls (Chokladbollar)

How to make it:

  1. Stir together butter and sugar until well combined. (You can do this by hand with a large spoon, fork, or pastry cutter.)

  2. Add vanilla sugar/vanilla, cocoa powder, and oats and stir until oats are distributed evenly throughout the butter mixture.

  3. Add water or cold coffee. (*If using vanilla extract, reduce the amount of water/coffee to 1 T + 2 tsp.)

  4. Form into balls (about 16) and put on a plate in the refrigerator to set.

  5. Optional: While still sticky, roll balls in pearl sugar, coconut, or sprinkles. (Sprinkles aren't traditional Swedish, but they're fun!)

**I use a combination of quick oats and old fashioned. You can make it with all quick oats if you'd like.
