Cream Cheese Wontons

Introduction

Crispy, homemade version of this favorite restaurant-style finger food. This goes great with any Asian-inspired dish.

Cream Cheese Wontons

How to make it:

  • Mix together cream cheese, sugar, & onion powder. 

  • Place wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Drop a tsp of filling on the center of each wrapper. 

  • Brush the edges with egg.

  • Bring 2 opposite corners of wrapper together in the middle & pinch. Repeat with opposite corners to form a package shape. Repeat with all wrappers.

  • Heat 4 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350 F. 

  • Fry 5-6 at a time, turning as needed to brown evenly. Should take 3-5 minutes.

  • Drain on a paper towel. 

  • Sprinkle with chives and serve with your favorite dipping sauce (Sweet & Sour, Sweet Chili, etc.).

Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers

  • 8 oz cream cheese,softened

  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 egg beaten

  • Oil for frying

  • Optional: 2 tsp minced chives
